The Truth about Jesus

Introductory Comments.

With Eater (Resurrection Day if you prefer) around the corner, many people make public their opinions about Jesus.

  • Some say he was merely a man

  • Some say he was an angel

  • Some say he is the Son of God

  • Some say he never existed

How do we respond to this, especially when people refuse to take the Bible seriously? Are we stumped? Or is there a way to witness for Jesus if people will not listen to the Scriptures?  (Paul's message in Athens found other avenues in to talk to people when they would not have accepted the Bible as proof - Acts 17).

The teaching tonight will give you more evidence to share with people and it is done by a reputable and knowledgeable teacher.

You may want to take some notes because we will not be publishing the video on our chanels.

BIO

Dr. Nunnally was my (Luke) Professor at Central Bible College for Acts of the Apostles and Intertestamental History and Literature. He has earned advanced degrees from Hebrew Union College, A Rabbinical School.  He has worked hands on with the Dead Sea schools.  He taught for over 35 years at the Undergraduate and Graduate level, And he leads teaching trips to Israel, writes for journals, both scholarly and popularly.  It would be hard to find someone more knowledgeable about the history  and ba kground between the Testaments. He is not a detached intellectual.  He combines vast knowledge with a passion for God and his Word to benefit the Church and Christians in living out their faith.

Luke - "What we are showing tonight is used with his permission.  I know his heart and life match his message and I can recommend his teaching to you without reservation."

The message tonight is on evidences of faith.  God has not only worked within our hearts but he has left a record in history and archaeology of his work.  It would be neglect not to use some of the resources that have been made available to us.  Faith in God is not just intuitional, it is based on evidence.

Jn 10:38 NIV | ...even though you do not believe me, believe the works, that you may know and understand that the Father is in me, and I in the Father.”

Ac 1:1–3 NIV | 1 In my former book, Theophilus, I wrote about all that Jesus began to do and to teach 2 until the day he was taken up to heaven, after giving instructions through the Holy Spirit to the apostles he had chosen. 3 After his suffering, he presented himself to them and gave many convincing proofs that he was alive. He appeared to them over a period of forty days and spoke about the kingdom of God.

Even reliance upon witnesses suggests that those who were doing the witnessing were passing along testimony of what they have seen and heard Jesus do and who he is.  This is a form of evidence. God doesn't leave it up to everyone to discover Him through their own intuition but through evidence witnessed by others (Acts 2:32; 3:15; 5:32; 10:39).

Not all religions are the same.  Christianity has history in its corner as a witness along with you, the Scriptures and the Holy Spirit.

If you have kids, they need to know that this is real, it is not real because we believe it, but because it is real we believe it. There is help here for parents and anyone talking to others about Jesus.
